Job Description
Senior Project Manager - EIA and Consents 

This position can be based at our offices in Stirling, The Green House, Newcastle or Aberystwyth

The Role

Manage the Environmental Impact Assessment, development and consent applications of renewable energy projects (offshore) from inception through to construction and operational phases. 

Duties and responsibilities associated with the role include:

  • Work with the Principal Consultant and manage Project Managers to formulate a strategy and oversee projects
  • Overseeing project team and sub-consultant activity and resourcing
  • Advising clients on their projects
  • Overseeing survey requirements for the site, drawing on internal and external resources
  • Work closely with the technical team in the site design
  • Managing project schedule and budgets, ensuring the project stays on schedule and in budget
  • Provide monthly progress reports to management and clients
  • Managing consultation process with statuary and non-statuary organisations
  • Liaising with the planning authority with regards to the project
  • Oversee and sign off on written reports from project managers, coordinators and consultants
  • Manages EIAs in line with guidance, regulations and best practice
  • Input into business development and managing tenders
  • Duties of the post could vary from time to time as a result of new legislation, changes in technology or policy.  In this event, appropriate training will be provided


  • Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline
  • Understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment and planning process
  • Demonstrable previous project management experience within the an environmental role 
  • Experience of working on offshore renewable projects, preferably from a consultancy or developer perspective
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively articulate both technical and no technical information
  • Maintain a high quality of work whilst working to deadlines
  • Self motivated and confident approach with the ability to work within a team and autonomously
  • Highly organised with exemplary attention to detail



  • IEMA or Royal Town Planning Institute Chartership or other relevant professional qualification
  • Understanding of the Habitats Regulations
